The 155 V6 TI arrived in the German DTM championship in 1993 and immediately stunned the established home teams. Beneath its sharp-edged saloon-car bodywork sat a highly advanced race machine: a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre V6 revving to around 11,800 rpm, permanent four-wheel drive, a semi-automatic six-speed gearbox, and roughly 420 horsepower in its debut specification. It won 10 of 20 races in its first season, delivering both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles for the brand.
