Built between 1936 and 1940, the 540K was the pinnacle of pre-war German engineering and style. Its supercharged straight-eight engine produced a remarkable 180 hp — extraordinary for its era — while the coachwork was a rolling sculpture of sweeping fenders, long hood vents, and flowing lines.
